Outstanding Conservationists in 2009

The Carlton County Soil and Water Conservation District held it’s 2009 Conservationist’s Award’s Banquet on September 29^th at the Cozy Café in Carlton. With attendance of over 55 guests it made this year the largest award banquet held by the SWCD. Supervisor Larry Sampson welcomed everyone and introduced award winners, sponsors and SWCD staff. Also attending this year’s event was Brent Malvick from Representative James Oberstar office and Carlton County Commissioner Marv Bodie.  Brad Matlack, SWCD District Manager began the evening with a tribute to SWCD Supervisor Carol Hauck who passed away this year. Karola Dalen from NRCS, Kirstin Swenson and Kelly Smith from SWCD gave a slide presentation on each award winner.

The SWCD would like to congratulate and thank our honorees again for their outstanding leadership and conservation practices. We thank our sponsors for their community service and participation. Without their support this banquet would not be possible.

The mission of the Carlton County Soil and Water Conservation District is to assist land occupiers in protecting and enhancing the Natural Resources of Carlton County.
